CELEBRATE!!!

Jesus didn't die 2000 plus years ago so that we could watch The Passion of the Christ, cry, and talk about how bad we feel about ourselves and our sinful lives. If that's where the Easter story terminates for you, you've missed the point.

He suffered, died, and came back to life to overcome and defeat the bondage of sin forever. He made it ok for us to have freedom to obey Him and follow Him...even when the price is high. He may call us to give up our lives, careers, money, and maybe our lives. BUT IT'S OK!!! Why??? Because He was who He said He was!!! (Matthew 27:54) HE IS GOD!!!

Easter doesn't represent some sweet holiday where we wear our new seersucker suits or our bright new dresses, get a warm fuzzy feeling, go to grandma's house and eat potato salad...It represents the MOST POWERFUL EVENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE EARTH!!! That power and authority was given to us. (Matthew 28) Not so that we can talk and debate, but to OBEY and FOLLOW (action verb).

CELEBRATE!!!

BUT...Don't celebrate the resurrection of Jesus then go betray Him with the way we live our lives, or, by the way we aren't living...

Easter pretty much makes or breaks us as a group. This 3 day resurrection always takes me to the literal interpretation of Creation. The same word is used for the 3 days it took for Jesus to come back and are used in Genesis to describe the 6 days it took to create the world.
I'm not getting into a whole thing here, it was just on my mind.

and by the way, my seersucker suit was cold pimp on Sunday. And yes, Reese and I were searching around the house that morning for easter eggs and we both had sweet tart bunnies in our system before 8am.
