Listen Up

James 1:19 My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. 21Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.

When was the last time you actually listened to what somebody was saying objectively without putting your own spin on it? When was the last time you really heard someone all the way out instead of preparing what you were going to counter with before they ended their thought? Challenge! I hearby pronounce myself guilty on both charges.

When will we learn that we can't protest people into becoming believers nor can we debate someone into accepting the Gospel. Let's extend grace and then truth (John 1:14). Let's get to know people before we attempt to change them.
