Theology topic

I'm in the middle of a text exchange with a Jehovah's witness. He just threw at me I don't celebrate Christmas because in scripture it doesn't say Christ was born on Dec. 25th? Thoughts?

My thoughts are that he is right. Nowhere in Scripture will we find any evidence to support the december 25th date. Christmas is a Christian tradition and not a Scriptual festival. In actuality, we should celebrate the birth of our Savior everyday but December 25th works as a special reminder each year as well. Advice: Celebrate december 25th as the birth of our Savior but recognize it as a traditional celebration and not a Scriptual truth to be strictly followed.
